Emma Matthews is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who works with adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, developmental and complex trauma, and relationship challenges. Many of her clients appear to be functioning well externally but feel overwhelmed, reactive, or disconnected internally. Emma helps clients understand the deeper attachment and survival patterns driving these experiences so they can move toward greater stability, clarity, and connection.
Her approach is attachment focused and trauma informed, grounded in practical CBT and DBT informed skills. She integrates body based and emotion regulation work to support meaningful, lasting change. Therapy with Emma is collaborative and insight oriented. She views clients as the experts on their own lives and provides a steady, supportive space for growth.
Emma is especially passionate about helping individuals and couples strengthen communication, repair attachment wounds, and build secure, connected relationships. She also partners with families, from those raising young children to parents of adult children, who want to be intentional about healing generational wounds and creating lasting connection. Faith informed integration is available when desired and always aligned with each client’s personal values.
Special Focuses: Anxiety, Depression, Developmental & Complex Trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Attachment Concerns, Relationship Issues, Life Transitions, Grief & Loss, Self-Esteem & Body Image, Stress Management, Pregnancy, Prenatal & Postpartum Support
